About a month ago, I got this wild and crazy idea stuck in my head that I ought to reboot this tumblr of mine. It’s been years, and I have nominally changed, but more importantly, my understanding and use of this site has changed. When I started using tumblr way back when, it was a way for me to collect pictures and links for myself, and I was a terrible little shit about attribution and proper credit and tagging. There have been several blog splinters and reunions. All in all its a mess.
On top of a long standing general dissatisfaction with this blog, the never ceasing march of time has swept me up and dumped me in this terrifying land called “adulthood.” A little birdy here told me that having a remotely positive web presence is important here, and it was one of those nice looking birdies, not the scary ones that try to bite your ear off and ask for loan repayments. I figure its at least something I can do.
So what does that mean for you, this blog, and the future?
Well, I am too attached to this url to actually abandon it, plus I want to pretend at least some positive press has happened under this name, so the new tumblr is actually going to steal the url of this old one.
The new main tumblr, (allacharade.tumblr.com) is going to be a pared down version of this. It will be the more political and critical posts (remember, web presence), but nothing too serious. I don’t have a great track record with too serious. Insights, cool design, the state of the world, science, tech, history, pseudo-intellectual ramblings… a lot of what is on this blog now, really. Just with less fandom stuff (not that there will be no fandom stuff. Some of it will definitely still show up because fandom is totally intellectual folks. Totally.), random tumblr humor, silly gifs, and puppies. But don’t worry! I could never stop reblogging puppies. Or any of those things! I am just compartmentalizing. Probably past the point where it is generally considered normal. But!
Puppies, humor, silly things, and a lot of random fandom odds and ends will be over here on a new blog - agameofcharades.tumblr.com.
Because of the degree to which Marvel has taken over my blog, it is getting its own new blog (from which I am sure it will bleed into every other blog, still) at - itschaosmagic.tumblr.com
Most of my other blogs are staying the same! That’s the nice thing about side blogs. You can just slide them over to a new account like its nothing. Even the drafts transfer. All my terrible procrastination just follows me over. It’s great.
A few blogs that very few people here are following are not making the jump because of changes in life circumstance, but the notifications of that and where that material is going will be on those blogs, so if you don’t see that notification, don’t worry about it.
This blog is not going anywhere. It will remain as a stalwart symbol of times gone by until tumblr servers deem otherwise. Also I have a shit ton of things that I will probably end of moving over at some point. So uh, sorry for any repeats, but they will take so long it will be practically like new content again!
